Tennessee Health Systems Become Affiliates
JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. — Earlier this month, Johnson City-based Mountain States Health Alliance (MSHA), the area’s largest health system, and Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC), located in Nashville, Tenn., signed an affiliation agreement that will benefit both organizations, as well as the communities in Northeast Tennessee and Southwest Virginia.
The agreement comes after a three-year search conducted by MSHA leadership as part of the organization’s 10-year strategic plan in response to the changes in today’s health care industry.
