Surgical Technology Partnership to Create State-of-the-Art Cardiac Labs

MENTOR, Ohio — Steris Corp., a provider of surgical support and technology, announced a collaboration with St. Jude Medical Inc., a global medical device manufacturer, to plan and implement advanced cardiac laboratories for health care providers in the U.S.

The labs will feature technologies across the cardiovascular service line designed to help hospitals and clinics develop state-of-the-art laboratories that meet their changing clinical needs.

Mentor, Ohio-based Steris Corp. will assist with the detailed design and planning of the labs and will contribute their advanced Harmony LED Surfical Lighting and Visualization System, iQ high definition Surgical Integration System and displays, and Harmony equipment management systems.

The company will also contribute its design services, which includes 3D room builder software and project management expertise, according to the company.

The labs may also include St. Jude Medical technologies such as the EnSite Velocity Cardiac Mapping System, MediGuide Technology, EP-Workmate Lab Recording System, Ilumien PCI Optimization System and a complete portfolio of irrigated ablation technologies.

The technologies are designed to help health care providers improve coordination of care through information sharing and clinical workflow tools.

Currently, three fully functional labs are located at St. Jude medical facilities in the U.S., where medical professionals can train to learn how to use St. Jude Medical and Steris technologies.
