PARKER, Colo. — After more than two decades of serving the Denver metropolitan area, AdventHealth Parker has launched a $300 million expansion project to accommodate the region’s growing population, featuring the addition of a 186,000-square-foot tower.
According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the Parker, Colo., population has risen 72% since the AdventHealth Parker Hospital first opened its doors in 2004 and is expected to grow by another 8% by 2027, necessitating more access to high quality healthcare.
“We are grateful for the opportunity to support our community by providing outstanding and accessible care, close to home,” said AdventHealth Parker CEO, Michael Goebel. “This strategic investment will not only elevate our services but ensure we are meeting the healthcare needs of our patients for years to come.”
The new tower is set to include four operating rooms alongside 16 pre- and post-operative rooms. Sixty new dual-purposed medical and surgical beds will be added to the existing facility’s 179 beds. Two cardiac catheterization labs will be included as well as a new sterile processing department. The fifth, sixth and seventh floors will be shelled for future patient bed floors as the community continues to grow.
AdventHealth is currently the community’s largest employer, with a workforce of more than 1,100. The new tower, set to be completed in 2027, is expected to bring at least 100 new jobs to the area. Building is slated to begin in February, with construction being led by DPR Construction-owned GE Johnson in Colorado Springs, Colo., and architectural planning completed by Boulder Associates. Lakewood, Colo.-based Cator, Ruma & Associates will contribute mechanical and engineering expertise, while S.A. Miro Inc. of Denver will provide civil and structural engineering consulting. BECI, located in Destin, Fla., will focus on the building’s enclosure and ADAMS in Denver will support project management.
AdventHealth is a nationally recognized healthcare provider. The Leapfrog Group, a U.S.-based nonprofit dedicated to improving healthcare quality and safety, acknowledged AdventHealth’s commitment to delivering consistent, high-quality, whole-person care, making it the first healthcare system to receive this award from the Leapfrog Group.
