ORLANDO—Architecture and engineering firm Goodwyn Mills Cawood (GMC) is further solidifying its presence in Florida with the addition of its Orlando office. The firm is no stranger to the Sunshine State, with existing Florida offices in Lutz, Tampa, Sarasota and Pensacola. The new Orlando office expands GMC’s footprint in Central Florida and supports its mission to build communities throughout Florida and the Southeast.
GMC is one of the largest privately held, multi-disciplined architecture and engineering firms in the Southeast. Their staff of more than 650 professionals is equipped to provide services spanning from architecture, interior design, civil engineering, environmental services, landscape architecture, planning, transportation engineering, geotechnical engineering, electrical engineering to surveying and disaster recovery. The firm’s initial focus in Orlando will center on healthcare architecture, with plans to grow the location into a full-service GMC office in the future.
Healthcare architecture practice leader Jack Monroe, AIA, NCARB, EDAC will lead this new office. Monroe has been a valuable asset to the team since joining the firm in January and will continue to leverage his longstanding local relationships to serve the community. He has worked on projects for some of the largest healthcare systems in Orlando and throughout the Southeast.
“We’ve seen a tremendous amount of growth in the Central Florida market, much of which can be attributed to the quality of life, jobs and affordability of this region,” Monroe said. “This new office provides us an opportunity to grow our team so that we can continue to support growth in the community through the services GMC provides.”
The GMC Orlando office is located in Downtown Orlando’s Central Business District.
