Heena Santry, MD, MS, MBA ,FACS, EDAC, recently joined the Columbus, Ohio, office of DLR Group as Principal and Senior Healthcare Planner.
A nationally recognized physician, health services researcher, and strategist, Santry’s background spans clinical care, academic medicine, public health science and healthcare design. She brings a comprehensive perspective to design and planning, integrating clinical operations, workforce needs, and equity considerations that deliver meaningful outcomes for clients and communities.
Earlier in her career, Santry spent nearly two decades in academic medicine as an acute care and trauma surgeon, leading research focused on care delivery innovation for socially vulnerable patient populations. She later held senior leadership roles in healthcare strategy and consulting, including principal and national market leader, after first serving as a senior associate and healthcare consulting director. Her move into the design industry reflects her commitment to advancing care delivery through innovative, research-based approaches. She continues to practice medicine alongside her full-time work in healthcare design.
