LEAWOOD, Kan.—Kansas-based healthcare real estate group Monument Healthcare Development (MHD) has rebranded from its former name, Astoria Healthcare Properties, ahead of planned strategic growth for its development footprint in the U.S.
Monument Healthcare Development is a premier healthcare real estate group focused specifically on facility development solutions for physicians, surgeons, systems, and other healthcare groups. Among the facility types within its specialty, MHD’s expertise lies in developing ambulatory surgical centers (ASCs), medical office buildings (MOBs) and others in line with federal, state and local regulations for an optimal patient experience.
MHD shed its former name in favor of one that more accurately represents its end-to-end project model focused on speed and quality, and its goals for future developments across the U.S.
“The reason behind the name ‘Monument’ is twofold,” said MHD’s CEO, Jon Dandurand. “The first is a tribute to the Monument Rocks in Western Kansas, which is reflected in our new logo and represents our roots in the region while we continue to expand nationally. The second is that we work closely with physicians and medical professionals who want to build facilities that will create a long-lasting legacy for the area they serve. The idea of a monument embodies that mission perfectly.”
Among others, MHD’s past notable developments have included St. Luke’s Surgery Center in Chesterfield, Missouri (17,000 SF); Saint Luke’s Southridge Medical Office Building & ASC in Overland Park, Kansas (57,000 SF); the Muve Chadds Ford Ambulatory Joint Replacement Center in Chadds Ford, Pennsylvania (19,000 SF); The Retreat at Alameda’s Senior Living Center in Phoenix, Arizona (98,000 SF); and Bryn Mawr Hospital’s Orthopedic Surgery Center in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania (27,600 SF). MHD’s next upcoming project is a forthcoming medical campus including ASC and MOB in Amherst, OH in partnership with University Hospitals.
Founded in 2005, Monument Healthcare Development is a healthcare real estate development firm specializing and ambulatory surgical center (ASC) and medical office building (MOB) investments.
