For nearly three decades, the 75-bed military hospital at the former March Air Force Base was a hub of activity. From the day it opened in 1965 to its closure in 1996, tens of thousands of military officers, enlisted men and their families sought care at the regional facility. Teeth were pulled, eyeglasses were fitted and major surgeries were performed.
