Armstrong Commercial Floor Products announces design extensions for both its Timberline and Standard Excelon (Imperial Texture and MultiColor) commercial resilient flooring lines. The extensions bring “exotic wood visuals” to the former line and wide-ranging color enhancements to the latter. Both products meet all current ASTM guidelines and feature a new urethane coating for increased durability.
Milliken’s new Sense carpet meets many of the tests necessary for implementation in the modern health care setting. The modular carpeting with ES (Engineered for Sustainability) backing contributes the maximum allowable points for carpet in LEED NC, CI and EB. It also holds a “Severe” rating for appearance retention, CRI green label compliance, a 10-year sustainable image assurance warranty and — as Milliken carpets have been for nearly 20 years — it’s PVC-free.
Metal-Era Inc., a provider of metal edge roofing systems, introduces its newest fascia system: Perma-Tite Omni Fascia. According to the company, design benefits include a membrane raised out of the waterline and a base rail that locks down the membrane. It is available in heavy gauges, has no exposed fasteners and follows the NRCA guidelines for raised perimeter edge conditions.
The fascia is available in .040 inch, .050 inch and .063 inch aluminum and 24-gauge steel with a choice of finishes. The company’s standard 20-year, 110-mph wind warranty is also available.
AgION Antimicrobial is a built-in protection to prevent the growth of bacteria, mold or mildew, and also affords protection against fungus. Incorporating the natural protection of silver technology, fixtures in surgery suites and patient rooms have interior and exterior surfaces that inhibit colonization and prevent contact transfer.
Antimicrobial fixtures include surgical troffers, sealed wet location troffers, night lights, step lights, over-bed fixtures, recessed ceiling mount (Multiform) fixtures and more.
Philips Lighting Company introduces a high-pressure sodium, non-cycling Ceramalux lamp, featuring Philips ALTO lamp technology. This addition to the line eliminates the unwanted “cycling” that can cause outdoor lamps to turn off and on at the end of life, now making it easier to determine which lamps should be replaced.
Application areas for the lamp include street and road lighting, warehouses, parking lots, parking garages, and anywhere where “cycling” high-pressure sodium lamps are less than desirable.
Beta Lighting has expanded its line of High Bay luminaries to include two new compact fluorescent lamp models: the BBL prismatic high bay and BBAA model high bay with spun aluminum reflector. The two new compact fluorescent high bay models are offered in four, six or eight lamp configurations of 4-pin compact fluorescent 26W, 32W or 42W lamps.
The aluminum reflector redirects center lumen output from vertical lamps and produces vertical illumination with low brightness while the fixed-lamp position provides wide light distribution.
Humanscale introduces its Liberty chair, a new task and conference chair that utilizes the company’s patent-pending Form-Sensing Mesh Technology. The chair combines the benefits of traditional mesh seating – breathability, durability, sustainability and aesthetic appeal – with the support of highly contoured foam cushions.
In addition to providing support, the chair’s mesh is low-abrasion, so it will protect suits and other clothing from undue wear. The mesh chair is available with fixed arms, no arms and height adjustable arms.
Allsteel introduces Nimble, a high-density stacking chair with a generous seat. Weighing in at just under 15 pounds, it is designed for cafeterias, meeting rooms, libraries and more.

Zentox’s Photox 500 is an air purification system for the reduction of indoor airborne microbiological and volatile organic compound (VOC) contaminants. Based on photocatalytic oxidation technology (PCO), the system is designed to remove noxious odors, toxic vapors and infectious organisms from the indoor environment.
It can remove a variety of hazardous and objectionable airborne contaminants including bacteria, virus, mold spores, cleaning solvent vapors, paint odor, hydrogen sulfide, urine/fecal odors, cooking odors and carbon monoxide.
