Lumidigm, a multispectral imaging biometrics company, announced that its Board of Directors has appointed Lumidigm Board member Mark Shermetaro as CEO. Lumidigm Co-founder, Chairman and CEO Bob Harbour will stay on as Executive Chairman of the Board of Directors, effective February 1.
Shepley Bulfinch recently hired health care planning and design leader Mario Vieira as a principal at the firm. With 25 years of experience as a healthcare architect, Vieira has worked with community hospital clients throughout the East Coast. His assignments included a master plan and award-winning patient care tower for Cape Cod Hospital, inpatient and ambulatory projects for Saint Francis Hospital in Hartford, CT, and the Southcoast Hospitals Group.
Gary Wilkinson, who joined KLMK in 2004, was named principal consultant for the company. Based in Birmingham, Alabama, Wilkinson manages projects at various facilities, including the Slidell Memorial Hospital, Princeton Baptist Medical Center, Southeast Alabama Medical Center and West Georgia Health System. In addition, he is leading the Transition Planning and Move Management Team for the Benjamin Russell Hospital for Children at Children’s of Alabama.
Robert A. Frank has been appointed to chief financial officer of the Weirton Medical Center. Frank, a health care industry veteran who has held various executive operational and financial management positions, is responsible for all finances including accounting, revenue cycle and budgeting.
WHR Architects recently promoted Joel Colwell, AIA, to principal. Colwell joined the firm in 2004 and spent the previous ten years on the client side as a facilities and project manager for a hospital in Louisiana.
Lawrence E. Wetzel, PE, chairman of the board of Air Innovations Inc., was recently honored with the HPAC Engineering magazine’s Engineer of the Year award. A licensed professional engineer in New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts, and California, Wetzel holds contractors’ licenses in those states as well as in Florida and Virginia. Additionally, he has seven U.S. patents and one European patent, with other patents pending in Europe and Canada.
KLMK Group Inc., a healthcare facility advisory firm, named Tim McCurley as principal consultant. McCurley joined KLMK in 2003. Based in Owensboro, Ky., he currently leads the KLMK onsite team dedicated to the Owensboro Medical Health System project.
