On June 1, David Zambrana, Ph.D., officially assumed the role of President and Chief Executive Officer at Florida’s Jackson Health System, one of the nation’s largest public academic health systems. A healthcare executive, nurse leader, and longtime member of the Jackson team, Zambrana brings decades of experience in healthcare operations, patient care, and strategic leadership to the role. Prior to becoming CEO of Jackson Health System, Zambrana served as the system’s President and Chief Operating Officer. He is also the former Chief Executive Officer of Jackson Memorial Hospital. Additionally, Zambrana previously served as Chief Nursing Officer, Chief Operating Officer and Chief Executive Officer of University of Miami Health System. Zambrana earned a doctorate in nursing as well as a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from the University of Miami. He also holds a Master of Business Administration and bachelor’s degrees from the University of Phoenix.
