Steve Nelson has been hired to serve C.W. Driver as its new vice president of estimating in the firm’s Pasadena office. In this position, Nelson will act as a trusted advisor for company clients and will be responsible for providing estimates on the firm’s preconstruction services and proposals. A 30-year industry veteran, Nelson and his extensive experience are crucial for various practice areas including education projects.
A new addition to McCarthy Building Companies’ health care team, Josh Rownd is now the firm’s director of business development for its central division. A registered architect, Rownd joins McCarthy from Atlanta-based HDR Inc, holding 27 years of experience in architecture, design/build and construction. Certified by the National Council of Architectural Registration Board, he holds architectural licenses in Missouri, Georgia, Minnesota, Nebraska, Kansas and in Canada.
Lance Cage, LEED AP, a 25-year veteran of the construction and real estate industry, has joined HOK as marketing principal and senior vice president to help direct business development and marketing in the firm’s 17-state North Central region. With experience in several sectors, including the health care field, Cage will be working with the company’s St. Louis and Denver offices to cultivate business opportunities.
As a new member of the Erdman Company team, Nancy Mayek will serve as the firm’s vice president of marketing. Bringing over 15 years of experience in health care marketing, Mayek will work with health care partners and plan, implement and manage programs and projects in support of Erdman’s overall marketing and business development objectives.
Jeffrey Nicholas was recently named director of project development for the northern region at Heery International. Over the course of his career, he has managed more than $2 billion in construction projects and more than $3 billion in master planning assignments.
Keith Banes recently joined Mortenson Construction’s Seattle Operating Group in Kirkland, Wash. as senior project manager. Banes joins Mortenson after 15 years with JE Dunn Construction in health care and correctional facility construction. Mortenson believes Bane’s experience and leadership in these areas will strengthen its operations. Banes received a Bachelor of Science in construction science and management from Kansas State University in 1994.
J.C. Castner has been named the executive associate and health care design manager at architectural, design and engineering firm, Heery International. In his new role, Castner will lead the company’s Philadelphia health care design studio, responsible for strategic direction, marketing and operations for all of the studio’s health care projects.
Ronald Benson, AIA, NCARB, LEED AP, has been appointed as the new senior associate for HGA Architects and Engineers. Based in the firm’s Los Angeles office, Benson is a licensed senior project manager with more than 25 years of international and domestic experience.
Serving the firm’s Dallas-Fort Worth office, Kenneth Melton is now the new superintendent for Joeris General Contractor Ltd. With over 34 years of experience as a project superintendent, Melton has built a wide variety of projects, including health care facilities. Known for his focus on project scheduling, budgeting and safety, Melton has worked with numerous clients and owners in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
Helen Ryan was recently named the permanent director of nursing for the Yeovil District Hospital Foundation Trust in Yeovil, England. Now with nearly 20 years of experience and service at this district, Ryan originally joined the team when she took charge of the intensive care unit in 1993. She later on became the nurse consultant responsible for critical care. Ryan also spent six years on Yeovil District Hospital’s board of governors as a staff governor.
