Eric Johnson has been promoted to the newly created position of executive managing director of Transwestern’s national health care platform. The firm’s health care specialists provide agency leasing, tenant advisory, property management, capital markets and development services for this particular client base.


Stalco Construction has promoted Amber M. Gillen to project manager. Gillen joined Stalco as an assistant project manager in 2012 and has since managed several significant health care projects in the New York area. Gillen’s responsibilities include complete project management in pre-construction, delivery and close-out phases.
The American College of Healthcare Architects (ACHA) has announced that Ian C. Sinnett, AIA, ACHA, LEED AP, vice president/regional leader of health care for HOK, has earned his board certificate in health care architecture. Sinnett recently passed an accreditation examination, which assesses the knowledge and understanding of architects who practice as health care specialists. He joins the ranks of more than 400 ACHA colleagues in the U.S.
HGA Architects and Engineers (HGA) hired Alyssa Scholz, IIDA, in July as principal and director of interior design in California. She will build the firm’s interior design services across the health care, higher education and public/corporate practice groups for the Los Angeles, San Francisco and Sacramento offices. Scholz has more than 20 years of interior design experience nationally.
Carl Haines has been named director of special projects at Level 10 Construction. Haines will focus on special projects throughout San Diego, including tenant improvements, renovations and modernizations within Level 10 Construction’s core markets: corporate, health care, education, entertainment, hospitality, technology and life sciences.
William Kline, AIA, LEED AP, EDAC, has joined the board of directors at SmithGroupJJR. Kline leads the firm’s Health Studio in Washington, D.C., working with clients that include the Department of Veterans Affairs, Genesis Health, Kaiser Permanente and University of Virginia. Kline has a special interest in project delivery methods and has lectured widely.
Chris Dilley has joined MB Real Estate (MBRE) as vice president in the firm’s health care division. Dilley will oversee the asset management for the firm’s health care properties across the country. Dilley was previously employed with GE Capital where he was an assistant vice president in the firm’s real estate group. During his tenure there, he managed more than 30 accounts and closed more than 100 loans.
Swinerton Builders in Irvine, Calif., has selected David Wade to further develop their position in the health care market. In his new role as Healthcare Market Leader, David Wade will be charged with leading Swinerton’s health care teams into the future of this dynamic market with a strong emphasis on elevating client relationships throughout the Southern California region. David Wade graduated from the University of Southern California and is a registered architect in California.
Bonnie Khang-Keating has been appointed to the SmithGroupJJR Board of Directors. She currently leads the firm’s Los Angeles studio. For health care client Kaiser Permanente, she led the firm’s Phase II design services for the 463-bed Kaiser Permanente Los Angeles Medical Center replacement hospital.
The Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America (AAFA) appointed Cary Sennett, MD, PhD, as president and CEO. Dr. Sennett was recently a vice president at WellPoint, one of the largest health benefit companies in the U.S. Dr. Sennett has more than 25 years of experience working with both public and private sector organizations to improve the quality and value of health care in the country.
