B. Anderson Flatt
Corizon Health has named B. Anderson Flatt as its chief information officer. Flatt, who was most recently senior vice president and chief information officer of Cigna-HealthSpring, brings more than 30 years of experience to his new role. As senior vice president and CIO, Flatt will be responsible for developing a comprehensive information technology approach while supporting Corizon Health’s overall business strategy.


Gilbane Building Company announced that John Abbott has joined the Florida office as operations manager. Abbott, who has been with Gilbane for more than 19 years, has worked in both the Texas and Connecticut regions. Abbott began his career with Gilbane as an office engineer and has progressed as operations manager, leading a diverse range of complex projects including health care, K-12 schools, water/wastewater, convention center/cultural, higher education and residential.
Dewberry has hired Alan Korth, AIA, LEED AP, as a justice practice segment leader. Korth is responsible for further developing and growing the presence of Dewberry’s justice services in California. He will focus on detention, corrections, courts and public safety projects.
Pamela Paulk has been named president of Johns Hopkins Medicine International. Throughout her 40-year career, including her most recent role as senior vice president of human resources for Johns Hopkins Medicine and the Johns Hopkins Health System, Paulk has distinguished herself through her exceptional ability to lead in complex environments, integrate large-scale operations and develop constructive business relationships across diverse groups.
Perkins Eastman announced that Jeffrey M. Young AIA joined the firm’s Pittsburgh office as an associate principal. Young will bring insights from his 18 years of experience across a range of building types to help build and lead the commercial office and mixed-use practice area in Pittsburgh.
EwingCole has named Elizabeth Kulkarni as a director of business development. The veteran business development professional brings more than 25 years of experience to her role providing strategic business development for the firm. Kulkarni held past director of business development and marketing positions at leading landscape architecture, architecture and engineering firms in Philadelphia and Chicago.
Boyd Chapman, AIA, has been promoted to associate at WDG Architecture’s Washington, D.C., office. Chapman joined WDG in 2012 and serves as a construction administrator. He is currently working on the Howard Hughes Medical Institute Janelia Research Campus in Loudoun County, Va., on the second phase housing.
Melissa Farling, FAIA, LEED AP, has joined HDR as managing principal of the Phoenix office. In her new role, Farling will oversee business development and operations for the Phoenix office and ensure that design innovation remains at the forefront of health care, science and technology, and justice and civic projects.
Arup announced that Carl Crow, PE, ASHRAE HBDP, has joined the firm in its Houston location as an associate principal mechanical engineer with a concentration on health care and research facilities. Crow will be focused on growing the firm’s health care and research design, planning and consulting services in Houston.
TLC Engineering for Architecture Inc.’s board of directors announced that Michael P. Sheerin, PE, LEED AP BD+C, has been named to succeed Debra Lupton as CEO of the firm. Sheerin is currently serving as the firm’s director of health care engineering. He will assume the role of CEO in early 2015.
