Melissa Farling

Melissa Farling, FAIA, LEED AP, has joined HDR as managing principal of the Phoenix office. In her new role, Farling will oversee business development and operations for the Phoenix office and ensure that design innovation remains at the forefront of health care, science and technology, and justice and civic projects. With more than 20 years’ experience, Farling is able to quantify the behavioral and physiological impacts of architecture and applying those findings to environments, including behavioral health facilities. Farling earned a Bachelor of Art in architecture at University of North Carolina at Charlotte and completed a Bachelor of Architecture and Master of Architecture at the University of Arizona, where her focus combined her two passions of architecture and psychology. She most recently served as research/project director for Jones Studio in Phoenix.
