Global design firm Stantec recently expanded its growing Healthcare practice in Hawaii with the strategic hire of Sundae Funai, AIA, as senior project manager.
Funai brings more than 30 years of architectural experience, with the last 20 years focusing on healthcare projects. She is passionate about creating healing environments that are safe, functional, and maintainable for patients, caregivers, and facility staff.
A licensed architect in Hawaii, Funai has focused on regulatory work for Joint Commission compliance and recently managed and led the healthcare team for a local full-service design firm, overseeing all phases of project delivery—including marketing, financial, procurement, design, and construction. She’s worked on a wide variety of healthcare building projects for major clients including The Queen’s Medical Center, North Hawaii Community Hospital, and Hawaii Pacific Health.
