Isabelle Arnold
Isabelle Arnold, project architect with Array Architects, has been invited to join the Facility Guidelines Institute’s (FGI) Biocontainment Unit Task Group. The group is an exclusive team of experts who will help establish Biocontainment Unit-specific material for 2022’s Guidelines. The team includes facilities directors, nursing directors, code consultants, regulatory officials and fellow healthcare designers.
“I am honored to participate in the important work of FGI’s Biocontainment Unit Task Group,” Arnold said. “A multidisciplinary team is critical to designing these complex spaces, and as highly-infectious and dangerous diseases and viruses become more common, they are becoming even more crucial.”
Arnold was selected for her expertise in biocontainment unit design, which was on display during two presentations she gave at HITT Contracting’s Co|Lab earlier the year. In November, she joined forces with Leach Wallace Associates to unveil a simulation mockup serving as proof of concept for a 6,500-square-foot flexible biocontainment unit project in development in the Washington, D.C. area.
