Kristine A. Harding, NCARB, AIA, was recently inaugurated as the 97th president of the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB). In this new role, Harding architect will lead NCARB and its 54 U.S. licensing boards, which serve more than 40,000 NCARB certified architects and 41,000 licensure candidates.

FT. MYERS, Fla. — Lee Memorial Health System in Ft. Myers is will soon begin work on a significant expansion and renovation of the Gulf Coast Medical Center, also located in Fort Myers. System officials recently signed a contract with the joint venture of global construction firm Skanska and Gates Construction of Bonita Springs, Fla., to complete the $200 million construction portion of the project.
Architectural products manufacturer, Kane Innovations Inc., based in Pennsylvania, has hired Mac Hines as vice president of sales for all Kane Innovations brands. In this role he will oversee all sales and marketing activity for Sterling Dula Railings, Kane Security Screens, Kane Detention and Kane Fabrications. Two biodegradable, fragrance-releasing urinal screens will eliminate urine backsplash using a patented bristle seal. Released by Sealed Air’s Diversey Care division in partnership with Ekcos Innovation, the products prevent the spread of microbes, floor deterioration and odors. The screens are infused with resin that uses timed-release deodorant technology, which can improve customer satisfaction. Called Power Screen and Ekcoscreen, they last 30 and 60 days, respectively, and have a smaller carbon footprint than similar products with shorter lifespans.
