WASHINGTON — Following the dismissal of the top Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) official in charge of construction, Rep. Mike Coffman, R-Colo., introduced legislation on March 26 that would help get the Aurora, Colo., VA hospital built while holding the VA accountable for its failures.
LUBBOCK, Texas — Covenant Health, based in Knoxville, Tenn., is investing $450 million toward construction and renovation efforts for its hospital system in Lubbock.
BREMERTON, Wash. — Harrison Medical Center in Bremerton named Balfour Beatty Construction, based in London, to provide preconstruction and construction services for an expansion to its acute-care hospital in Silverdale, Wash. Harrison made the announcement on March 25. Last fall, Harrison announced NBBJ of Seattle as the project’s architect.
BALTIMORE — LifeBridge Health, a health organization based in Baltimore, has acquired Carroll Hospital Center in Westminster, Md. The deal will help with future hospital construction and renovation projects as well as the development and expansion of medical services.
Perkins+Will’s New York office recently announced the elevation of Robert Goodwin into the College of Fellows, the AIA’s highest honor for excellence.
