The American College of Healthcare Architects (ACHA) has announced that Ian C. Sinnett, AIA, ACHA, LEED AP, vice president/regional leader of health care for HOK, has earned his board certificate in health care architecture. Sinnett recently passed an accreditation examination, which assesses the knowledge and understanding of architects who practice as health care specialists. He joins the ranks of more than 400 ACHA colleagues in the U.S.

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Pomegranate Health Systems of Central Ohio broke ground last week on an addition to the existing psychiatric hospital and residential treatment facility located off Harmon Avenue in Columbus.

Minneapolis-based Mortensen began working on the $623 million, 831-square-foot Exempla Saint Joseph Hospital nearly three years ago. The construction company faced a tight 30-month schedule in order to get the hospital open and operational by December 2014. A timeline for a project this big is usually 36 months, but construction is expected to be complete this month.
