Water-Cooled Screw Chiller

Johnson Controls’ York YVWA water-cooled screw chiller is designed for energy efficiency. The unit is designed to cut energy costs and carbon emissions by as much as 30 percent while increasing sustainability by using the HFC-134a refrigerant, which has zero ozone-depletion potential and no phase-out date, according to the company.

The YVWA can be used in both thermal-storage and heat-pump applications, allowing the chiller to use a wide range of heat-rejection methods, including an open cooling tower, dry cooler, adiabatic cooler, heat recovery, or heat pump. The chiller can also reduce the number of potential leak points by 35 percent.
