Jim Thomson

Jim Thomson, NCARB, AIA, EDAC, LEED AP, has returned to HDR as director responsible for the U.S. Central region healthcare architecture practice. Thomson will lead business development strategies for HDR offices in Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Houston, Minneapolis and Omaha. Thomson previously spent 18 years at HDR, most recently as managing principal of HDR’s Minneapolis office until 2017 when he departed for AECOM. During his time with HDR, Thomson contributed to several major projects with clients including Allina Health, The Mayo Clinic and Children’s Hospital and Clinics of Minnesota. Thomson’s experience spans 25 years in the architecture industry as a project coordinator, managing principal and regional leader. He also teaches courses on architectural professional practice at the Dunwoody College of Technology in Minneapolis.
