The award was based on education, health care experience and a commitment to excellence in health care architecture. Crews also received an Intern Architect Scholarship, through which she was able to attend the Healthcare Design 2015 Conference in Washington in November.

The Hutchinson Regional Healthcare System in Hutchinson, Kan., has named Ken Johnson as its new president and CEO. Johnson served as the interim president since June of this year. Before that, he was the chief financial officer of Hutchinson Regional Healthcare System from 2011 and was named the chief operating officer in 2014. Johnson had previously worked for Hutchinson Regional Healthcare System in 1983 with the Hutchinson Hospital Corporation.

Dr. de la Cruz has more than 22 years of experience in a variety of clinical and leadership roles at Parkland. Most recently, he served as the chief of hospitalist services. He also serves as an assistant professor of internal medicine at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center.

Michael Bardin AIA, LEED AP, has joined the San Francisco office of HDR as a design principal. Bardin will lead the health care and science + technology design strategy for the practice. In his 15-year career, he has won numerous awards for his designs. Among one of his greatest accomplishments was his work as part of a team to develop a concept hospital designed to be an industry-leading prototype for health care delivery, patient experience and operations.

Terrinoni currently serves as the executive vice president of administration and chief financial officer of Kennedy Health System, a three-hospital network in New Jersey. Prior to the appointment, Terrinoni held the same positions at the Richmond University Medical Center from 2007 to 2011.

Corizon Health has announced that they have hired Timothy E. Hughes, MD, FACOG, FACS as Corizon’s new regional medical director for its Southeast Jails. Hughes will provide medical leadership to the facilities in the Southeastern region. Previously, Hughes served as the departmental surgeon for the Mobile County Sheriff’s Office. Karey Witty was recently named CEO of Brentwood, Tenn.-based Corizon Health, a major correctional facility health care provider. Witty will be replacing current CEO, Dr. Woodrow Myers Jr., effective Nov. 2. Witty was most recently the CFO of Nashville-based post-acute care manager naviHealth. He has been on Corizon’s board of directors since 2011, when the company was created through the merger of PHS Correctional Healthcare and Correctional Medical Services, where he served as CFO.
