Most Hospitals Rate High for Common Surgeries

NEW YORK — A majority of U.S. hospitals excel in common surgical procedures such as heart bypass, hip replacement and knee replacement, according to analysis from New York-based U.S. News & World Report.

U.S. News revealed the results of its new Best Hospitals for Common Care ratings on May 20. The ratings cover nearly every hospital in the country and evaluate each one in five common surgical procedures and medical conditions that account for millions of hospitalizations each year.
