Work Begins on CHI Ambulatory Building

OMAHA, Neb. — McCarthy Building Companies of St. Louis broke ground on May 7 on the new CHI Ambulatory Building, which is part of the new academic complex for Creighton University Medical Center in Omaha.

The $35 million, 80,000-square-foot facility will feature a new, team-based approach to health care, education and the community in one location that will serve the region. It will house the region’s first free-standing emergency department as well as outpatient and diagnostic services and community space.

Harlem Hospital Center Renovates Dental Clinic

NEW YORK — Harlem Hospital Center (HHC) celebrated the opening of its newly renovated and expanded Dr. James E. McIntosh Dental Services at Harlem Hospital Center on May 8.

The $6.3 million project brings new dentistry and imaging equipment to a clinic that handled more than 21,000 patient visits last year. The new dental clinic has also been relocated to the Samuel L. Kountz Pavilion, Mezzanine Level, at 136th Street and Fifth Avenue in New York.

Southside Hospital Plans ER Expansion

BAY SHORE, N.Y. — Southside Hospital, a 341-bed tertiary facility in Bay Shore, is in the early stages of a multi-million dollar expansion of its emergency department.
