John P. Mattox

The award-winning firm, Carrier Johnson + CULTURE, has announced the addition of John P. Mattox, AIA, LEED AP, as director of Strategic Healthcare Initiatives for the growing Healthcare Division. He will assemble a new advisory group for health care strategies, which will be announced in further detail by Carrier Johnson + CULTURE later this year. Before joining the firm, Mattox served as senior director of health care project management at the University of California, San Diego (UCSD). With 35 years of experience in architecture, Mattox was instrumental in master-planning and capital-improvement initiatives for the university’s medical centers. His major successes include oversight responsibly on the 245-bed Jacobs Medical Center Hospital, UCSD’s East Campus Administrative Office Building and the Sulpizio Cardiovascular Center. As for the future, he is excited to work together with the firm on new acute care and clinical facilities, academic medical centers and patient-centered environments.
