Biodegradable Urinal Screen

Two biodegradable, fragrance-releasing urinal screens will eliminate urine backsplash using a patented bristle seal. Released by Sealed Air’s Diversey Care division in partnership with Ekcos Innovation, the products prevent the spread of microbes, floor deterioration and odors. The screens are infused with resin that uses timed-release deodorant technology, which can improve customer satisfaction. Called Power Screen and Ekcoscreen, they last 30 and 60 days, respectively, and have a smaller carbon footprint than similar products with shorter lifespans.

Hospital in South Dallas Celebrates First Anniversary

DALLAS — Parkland Health & Hospital System’s Hatcher Station Health Center recently celebrated its one-year anniversary. The $22 million facility sits on seven acres in South Dallas and replaced the old East Dallas Health Center.

“It has brightened up this part of the neighborhood. We hope it will lead to even more development,” said Rev. Donald R. Parish Sr. of True Lee Missionary Baptist Church, which is located directly behind the health center.

David Lopez

Parkland Health & Hospital System has named David Lopez as the permanent Executive Chief Operating Officer (COO) after serving as the interim COO for almost four months. Much of his career has been spent working in public health systems and he shows a commitment to the public health care mission in Texas. Lopez served as COO for four years and CEO for nine years for the Harris County Hospital District in Houston.
