John P. Mattox
The award-winning firm, Carrier Johnson + CULTURE, has announced the addition of John P. Mattox, AIA, LEED AP, as director of Strategic Healthcare Initiatives for the growing Healthcare Division. He will assemble a new advisory group for health care strategies, which will be announced in further detail by Carrier Johnson + CULTURE later this year. Before joining the firm, Mattox served as senior director of health care project management at the University of California, San Diego (UCSD).
Portable Examination Device
A portable examination device is currently going through the FDA clearance process with the hope of helping health care providers connect with patients who cannot visit the office. If approved, the device would monitor a patient’s basic health parameters by taking his or her temperature, recording sounds of auscultations from its built-in stethoscope and documenting video footage of ear and throat exams. This information is then relayed to a physician in high-definition images and sounds without the patient having to leave their home.
