Drue Stoehr
The Missner Group, a Skokie, Ill.-based company that offers real estate development and construction services in industrial, health care, automobile and commercial settings, has announced Drue Stoehr as the new vice president of construction. Stoehr is now responsible for the scheduling, production and presentation of the firm’s construction services and operations. He previously served as project manager for the firm.


Paul A. Salles has been named the next president and CEO of the Louisiana Hospital Association (LHA). Salles will assume his role or representing Louisiana’s hospitals and health systems on Jan. 1, 2014. In his new position, Salles will work closely with the Louisiana Hospital Association Board of Trustees and membership on the development and implementation of the strategic vision for the association.
Tyler Vassar has been named executive vice president and chief operating officer of Erdman, a health care consulting, facility planning, development and design-build company based in Madison, Wis. Vassar brings more than 25 years of leadership experience in areas including direct and indirect expense management, client fulfillment and cost productivity.
The American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons (AAHKS) has named Michael Zarski executive director. Formerly the executive director of American Osteopathic Information Association, Zarski brings with him a long and distinguished career with medical associations, according to AAHKS. Zarski has also served as chief information officer for the American Osteopathic Association and senior legislative counsel for the American Medical Association.
Mark Henderson, AIA, has joined AECOM’s Houston office to lead the firm’s architecture, engineering and planning practices serving the health care market. With more than 28 years of experience, Henderson has worked on health science centers, teaching hospitals and academic medical centers for such clients as the University of Texas, Harris Health System, Duke University, Providence Health System and the University of Washington.
Caremerge, a communication and care coordination platform for senior living, has announced the addition of Joe Steier to the Caremerge Board of Directors. Steier, president and CEO of Louisville, Ky.-based Signature HealthCare, holds more than 20 years of leadership experience. He joined Signature HealthCare, formerly known as Home Quality Management, as president to help grow the small organization into a regional family-based, long-term care provider, according to Caremerge.
Jesse McCarter, AIA, has joined HDR Architecture’s Princeton, N.J. office as health care principal. The new principal holds 15 years of industry experience and has worked at health care firms such as Ellerbe Becket, Perkins Eastman and, most recently, HOK.
Premier Health has announced that Mark Shaker will become the new CEO and president of Miami Valley Hospital in 2014. Currently the senior vice president of service integration, Shaker has been with the health system for 28 years. He has held previous positions as president and CEO of Good Samaritan Hospital, vice president of strategic improvement at Miami Valley Hospital and president and CEO of Fidelity Health Care.
TAYLOR will expand its presence with the appointment of Joe Lowe, AIA, LEED AP, as director of the firm’s new San Diego office. With 14 years of experience, Lowe will lead TAYLOR’s business initiatives in the San Diego market and build upon relationships established over the years, according to the firm. The new director brings with him extensive experience in health care design and client depth in the local market.
International consulting and engineering firm Environmental Systems Design Inc. (ESD) has named Erik Nelson as the new structured cabling systems and health care technology team lead. Nelson was formerly a lead communications engineer with Jacobs Engineering Group. He has also held positions as project manager and lead designer with RTKL Architects, systems engineer with Electronic Evolutions and development engineer with Smith & Nephew.
