Construction Begins on Lifestyle Comprehensive Healthcare Center
BENSALEM, Pa. — Construction has begun on the 200,000-square-foot Lifestyle Healthcare Center. In celebration of the beginning of construction, Lifestyle Healthcare Group held a groundbreaking ceremony Oct. 24.
Slated for a 2015 opening, the $120 million health care facility will include a women’s center, orthopedics, general surgery, ophthalmology, cancer treatment, plastic surgery and several other medical services. The eight operating suites in the center will also support a variety of surgical procedures.
Researchers Look to Meet Future Physician Shortage
SAN FRANCISCO — Researchers from the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) are presenting solutions to a potential upcoming shortage in health care providers.
By the year 2025, UCSF officials estimate that there will be a shortage of 52,000 primary care physicians in the United States. In a series of papers published in Health Affairs, doctors and administrators of UCSF offered potential solutions to close that shortage.
Riverside Shore Memorial Officials Celebrate Groundbreaking
ONLEY, Va. — Officials held a groundbreaking ceremony last week to commemorate the start of construction for the new Riverside Shore Memorial Hospital.
The 69-bed, 155,000-square-foot facility will be built alongside a new 40,000-square-foot medical building and the exterior design will be in keeping with local architecture of Virginia’s Eastern Shore.

SIERRA VISTA, Ariz. — Nearly 300 people gathered last week to celebrate the groundbreaking of the new Sierra Vista Regional Health Center (SVRHC) in Sierra Vista, Ariz. Officials broke ground on the new facility Oct. 16 with construction expected to begin on the 100-bed health care facility in November.

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — Children’s of Alabama’s Benjamin Russell Hospital for Children in Birmingham recently became the first health care facility in the state to earn LEED Gold certification.
