Mark O’Halla was recently promoted to McLaren Health Care COO after working as CEO of McLaren Macomb, a 288-bed acute care hospital in Mount Clemens, Mich. In his new role, O’Halla will oversee all of the McLaren Health Care organization’s hospital and related subsidiary operations, including McLaren Medical Group. O’Halla will work to establish system-wide goals with regard to quality outcomes, patient experience initiatives and financial performance.

Bay Area Children’s Hospitals Receive $100 Million Gift

SAN FRANCISCO — A $100 million gift from Lynne and Marc Benioff will benefit the continuous development of the UC San Francisco (UCSF) Children’s Hospital and Children’s Hospital and Research Center Oakland.

The donation will be used to strengthen existing programs in basic and clinical research and patient care as well as attract new expertise in order to accelerate the development of innovative solutions for children’s health in the Bay Area, nationally and globally, according to UCSF.

WellStar Paulding Hospital Opens

HIRAM, Ga. – The new eight-story, 295,000-square-foot WellStar Paulding Hospital opened for patients April 1. With 56 beds and the ability to double its current capacity, the WellStar Paulding Hospital houses four state-of-the-art surgical suites, 40 emergency exam rooms, a dedicated pediatric emergency department and cardiac catheterization center.

The new hospital features several new technologies, such as UV Air Handlers and a water re-disinfectant system, that are focused on infection prevention.
