ESa, a nationally recognized Nashville-based architecture and design firm, has added Emily Karbo, DNP, RN, EDAC, Associate AIA, as clinical operations and design specialist. Karbo, who recently graduated with a Doctor of Nursing Practice in health innovation and leadership from the University of Minnesota and earned the Evidence-Based Design Accreditation and Certification (EDAC), joins ESa to champion clinically informed design in Tennessee and beyond. With years of frontline experience as a registered nurse in pediatric and neuroscience intensive care units at the Mayo Clinic, Karbo now collaborates with healthcare design teams to shape environments that are efficient, safe and aligned with the realities of care delivery. Karbo’s EDAC certification, awarded by the Center for Health Design, reflects her commitment to research-driven design that supports better health outcomes.
