Mark Koechling has been named Health Studio leader for the Phoenix office of SmithGroup. In this role, Koechling will foster the expertise of the studio to remain at the forefront of healthcare design and continue serving as a trusted partner to private nonprofit health systems, tribal/government and developer clients.
Since joining SmithGroup in 2018, Koechling has been an integral part of the Phoenix Health Studio, serving as a senior project manager and bringing a wealth of experience, strategic insight and a deep commitment to advancing healthcare design and delivery. His ability to lead holistically, shaped by experience across the owner, consultant, and A/E sides of the healthcare industry, has helped the Phoenix Health Studio achieve success with new project delivery methods and client deliverables.
His additional experience in the science and technology, higher education and campus planning markets has further enriched his perspective, allowing him to anticipate emerging needs and consideration of the tapestry of variables encountered with medical campus developments, academic medical centers, and ambulatory care centers.
