Baptist Memorial Hospital Begins Construction

OXFORD, Miss. — In 2012, Oxford was named the 15th fastest growing small town in America by Forbes magazine, which has prompted the local Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi to construct a larger facility in the area. According to the United States Census, the population in Oxford has grown by 15.3 percent since 2010. With the increased population in the area and the growth of local businesses and housing, the new hospital became essential.

Roberto de la Cruz

Parkland Health & Hospital System has announced that Roberto de la Cruz, MD, has been named chief medical officer. Dr. de la Cruz has more than 22 years of experience in a variety of clinical and leadership roles at Parkland. Most recently, he served as the chief of hospitalist services. He also serves as an assistant professor of internal medicine at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center.
