Southside Hospital Plans ER Expansion
BAY SHORE, N.Y. — Southside Hospital, a 341-bed tertiary facility in Bay Shore, is in the early stages of a multi-million dollar expansion of its emergency department.
The emergency department will be named in honor of the Bohlsen Family for their lead gift. The first phase of the project is scheduled for completion in the summer of 2016.
Tom Shaver
The Opus Group appointed Tom Shaver as president, Opus Healthcare, a division of Opus Development Company, L.L.C., and an expansion of services into the health care sector. In his new role at Opus, Shaver will lead Opus’ health care work, developing the strategic direction of the division with the goal of helping health care systems find customized real estate solutions that benefit their organizations, staff and patients.

The new eco-friendly Oil Eater Naturals pads and rolls are designed to provide a safer and cleaner workplace. They quickly absorb fluids, such as blood and urine and are leak-free when saturated. Made of natural plant by-products, the fine fiber pads will absorb up to 20 percent more than melt-blown polypropylene pads, yet cost less, according to the manufacturer.
