BALTIMORE — Physician-owned hospitals provide a higher level of patient satisfaction, according to a survey released April 16 by Baltimore-based Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). The findings were released as CMS introduced star ratings for hospitals on Hospital Compare, a public information website that helps consumers choose a hospital and understand the quality of care it delivers.

BROOKLYN, N.Y. — The first major commercial building to join the Brooklyn Cultural District’s development boom broke ground last month.
Architecture firm Francis Cauffman of Philadelphia, Pa., designed the Brooklyn Health Center. New York-based Skanska USA is the construction manager.
ASPEN, Colo. — The third phase of construction for Aspen Valley Hospital will begin on April 20. The hospital is going into its third phase of construction, which will include about 33,000 square feet of space for a new emergency department, surgery suite and diagnostic imaging.
SPRING HILL, Fla. — Oak Hill Hospital in Spring Hill announced on April 6 that construction of its obstetrics project is now underway. The new $13.7 million maternity suites at Oak Hill Hospital will be the most advanced maternity unit in the region by offering a full-service program in a safe and secure environment.
The new unit will be added to the 3rd floor of the new North Tower. Features of the new OB program include:
• A total of 18 suites.
• Six labor and delivery suites
• Ten post-partum recovery suites
