TAMPA, Fla. — Two Florida health care providers that formed a partnership two years ago announced on Jan. 9 that their new nonprofit company will be called West Florida Health.
The newly created West Florida Health is a joint venture between Tampa General Hospital and Florida Hospital, based in Orlando, Fla. Tampa General Hospital and Florida Hospital announced their formal partnership in September 2013. Their new company is not a merger of existing hospital operations, and neither hospitals are planning on selling properties.
PLYMOUTH MEETING, Pa. — The ECRI Institute, based in Plymouth Meeting, released a new report on Jan. 12 that helps to identify new and emerging health technologies that could help treat patients, improve care and reduce costs. The institute’s 2015 Top 10 Hospital C-Suite Watch List looked at 10 topics for hospitals leaders to follow during the next 12 to 18 months.

He is currently working on the Howard Hughes Medical Institute Janelia Research Campus in Loudoun County, Va., on the second phase housing.
