Sterling Regional MedCenter Implements Patient Experience Re-Boot
STERLING, Colo. — The Sterling Regional MedCenter in Sterling is seeing positive changes in patient experience due to changes made in the emergency department over the past 15 months. In response to patient satisfaction surveys, Banner Health and the Sterling Regional MedCenter knew they needed to improve patient satisfaction, according to Banner Health Officials.
Jeffry Stampohar
The Hancock County Health System board of trustees announced that Jeffry Stampohar will be the health system’s new administrator and CEO, starting on Jan. 11. Stampohar brings more than 25 years of experience in the health care administration industry.
Exam Lighting
The Brewer Featherlight Exam Light from AliMed includes dichroic film-coated reflectors that filter out about 80 percent of the beam heat. The product includes three color-corrected, low voltage, 50-watt halogen bulbs that keep the housing unit cool. The exam light has a no-drift, counter-balanced arm design and 540-degree rotation at the lights head and yoke. It features a five-leg caster base making transportation easy and also includes power cord exits at the base of the floor model. It has a bulb life of 4,000 hours.

SAN DIEGO — The East Tower Nursing Unit at Sharp Grossmont Hospital in San Diego received a complete overhaul including the renovation and modernization of their facility.
Willits Hospital Incorporates Patient-Friendly Designs
WILLITS, Calif. — On Oct. 29, the Frank R. Howard Memorial Hospital in Willits opened, replacing the original hospital that was built in 1928. After beginning construction in late 2011, the hospital is now double the size of its predecessor and boasts many upgrades, according to the North Bay Business Journal.

The award-winning international architecture firm Francis Cauffman Healthcare Division announced the appointment of Zlatka Lennihan, AIA, LEED AP, as senior associate/senior project manager in its health care division. Lennihan has more than 20 years of experience representing both the design team and the owner’s interests in the delivery of leading-edge facilities.

The Pedigo Delux Blanket Warming Cabinet is UL and CSA approved. There are no fans or other moving parts within the cabinet. The product also features a glass front door, which allows the user to view the inventory in the cabinet. It includes a safety-coated interior, individual control that adjusts to 200 degrees Fahrenheit and has electronic programmable controls. The cabinet offers the option of either casters or fixed legs on the bottom of the unit.

Vidyo Receives $10 Million Investment from Kaiser Permanente
OAKLAND, Calif. — Kaiser Permanente, headquartered in Oakland, made a strategic $10 million investment in Vidyo, a software-defined video collaboration, to help them with their growth in the health care industry. On Dec. 14, Vidyo announced their latest funding, including the investment from Kaiser Permanente, and company officials said that the company has now raised $163 million.
