The Cookson Company and Cornell Iron Works, both brands of CIW Enterprises, have introduced the 342 High-Performance Grille, which travels three times faster than traditional coiling grilles and provides operational efficiency for more than 300,000 cycles. The coiling grille offers building owners a fast and virtually maintenance-free solution for critical, high-traffic openings. In addition to speed and security, the coiling grille’s design features a springless shaft; anti-wear and low-friction UHMW guides; aluminum tube spacers and heavy-duty aluminum links; and a variable frequency drive with a soft start/stop feature, which reduces wear and stress on the gear box and operator. The 324 programmable logic-control box works with mechanisms, such as floor loops, card and RFID readers, motion detectors and other modern control technology. The grille is available in either a straight or a brick pattern design for openings up to 26-feet wide.
