Construction Begins on Lifestyle Comprehensive Healthcare Center

BENSALEM, Pa. — Construction has begun on the 200,000-square-foot Lifestyle Healthcare Center. In celebration of the beginning of construction, Lifestyle Healthcare Group held a groundbreaking ceremony Oct. 24.

Slated for a 2015 opening, the $120 million health care facility will include a women’s center, orthopedics, general surgery, ophthalmology, cancer treatment, plastic surgery and several other medical services. The eight operating suites in the center will also support a variety of surgical procedures.

Researchers Look to Meet Future Physician Shortage

SAN FRANCISCO — Researchers from the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) are presenting solutions to a potential upcoming shortage in health care providers.

By the year 2025, UCSF officials estimate that there will be a shortage of 52,000 primary care physicians in the United States. In a series of papers published in Health Affairs, doctors and administrators of UCSF offered potential solutions to close that shortage.
