New Emergency Department coming to GSR Medical Center

SUFFERN, N.Y. — The Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center broke ground for a new emergency department. The current department, designed almost 25 years ago, can only accommodate 19,500 patients. However, last year the department treated almost double that with 35,000 patients and will see a projected 52,000 patients in 2017.

The hospital is planning a multi-phase expansion that will triple the current space by January 2013.

Nick Apanius

Appointed to vice president and Cincinnati region leader, Nick Apanius will lead Messer Construction’s health care division, managing and providing guidance to a multi-functional team to drive research and development for the company’s construction services. He is a University of Cincinnati graduate and began his career with Messer in 1999. Apanius served as a senior project manager before being promoted to project executive and then health care executive.

Groundbreaking For New Rehabilitation Center

MOULTRIE, Ga. — Colquitt Regional Medical Center started construction on a new rehabilitation center this week, with the project cost targeted at $3 million.

The new on-campus facility will house the hospital’s occupational therapy, speech and language therapy, physical therapy programs and registration. These services are currently located separately.
