DPR Breaks Ground on $244 Million Project
OAKLAND, Calif. — Commercial builder DPR Construction broke ground on Sutter Health’s new $244 million Alta Bates Summit Medical Center Patient Care Pavilion in Oakland. Scheduled to open in 2014, the $350 million, 230,000-square-foot facility will include an 11-story patient care tower, a new emergency room, and will house 238 medical/surgical and acute rehabilitation beds. Also in the works is a 1,000-space parking structure.

Groundbreaking Held for $529M Expansion
WYNNEWOOD, Pa. — Lankenau Medical Center broke ground on a new heart, lung and vascular care pavilion. The $529 million, 281,000 square foot, five-story structure is to be built on the hospital’s 92-acre campus, and will surround and connect the existing buildings on the campus, expanding the medical center’s existing capabilities. The expansion will be the starting point for a multi-year master plan that the hospital is undertaking.

AUBURN, Calif. — Sutter Auburn Faith Hospital announced that nearly half of its electricity is now solar, making it the first acute-care facility in the state of California to have a large portion of its energy demands met by two 3,000 panel solar array hosted by the hospital.
Hospital Expansion Brings $26 Million Medical Office Building
NASHVILLE — Centennial Medical Center announced plans to build a 148,000-square-foot, six-story medical office building in Nashville, estimated to cost $26 million. The project, which is part of Centennial’s $143 million expansion project, will add 51 licensed beds, four surgical suites and enhancements to the hospital’s heart and cancer centers. An elevated connector will also link the MOB to Centennial’s main tower and the adjoining women’s hospital.
Banner Health Opens $150 Million Hospital Near Phoenix
PHOENIX —The $150 million Banner Ironwood Medical Center will open soon in San Tan Valley, Ariz., about 40 miles from downtown Phoenix. The 227,000-square-foot, five-story hospital will open with 36 beds and will add more as the demand increases.
The new construction can accommodate 84-beds but the 80-acre site has room for a hospital with more than 500-beds and supporting health services.
