Geo Group Expands Operations with Just Care Inc. Acquisition
BOCA RATON, Fla. — Private prison operator GEO Group, announced a $40 million deal to expand its healthcare operations through the purchase South Carolina-based provider of detention healthcare Just Care Inc.
GEO Group expects the acquisition to add $30 million in revenue and 4 cents to annual profit per share.
Electric Scooter
ZAP’s new electric scooter, the ZAPPY3, is equipped with a 36-volt motor, folding handlebars and goes up to 12.5 mph. The scooter features three-wheel stability and allows users to stand facing forward. The new model charges using a standard outlet in four to six hours and can run for up to 24 miles when fully charged, according to the company. While driving at slow speeds, the handlebars rotate almost 180 degrees to allow for easy maneuvering.
Power Supply
Staco Energy Products Co. added simple network management protocol capabilities to its FirstLine three-phase uninterruptible power supply. The product, which is available in 10-, 15- and 20-kVA applications, allows users to network with management systems.
Sensor-Operated Flush Valve
Moen Inc. announced the release of the FreeHand sensor-operated flush valve. The valve provides energy savings by using an infrared sensor to activate the flush cycle, which ensures efficient water use, according to the company. The sensor uses standard AA batteries or an AC adapter. Features include a 24-hour sentinel flush, self-cleaning filter system, operating pressures ranging from 10 to 120 PSI, manual override button and self-lubricating silicone seals.
Antimicrobial Scoop
Component Hardware Group uses Saniguard’s antimicrobial technology for its 64-ounce ice scoop. The scoop can be used with ice or on dry goods. It is lined with antimicrobial technology that inhibits the growth of bacteria, mold and mildew. There is also a molded hand guard to prevent accidental hand contact and to help eliminate cross-contamination. The antimicrobial treatment involves a silver ion-based layer and will last through the expected life of the product.
Low-Emissions Generators
A line of environmentally friendly generators created by Cummins Power Generation Inc. is now available. The generators passed the Environmental Protection Agency’s Tier 4 emissions regulations rated at 10 kW, 15 kW, 20 kW and 25 kW. The generators come with a weather-protective or sound muffling, steel or aluminum enclosure. The product also features the PowerCommand 1.1 electronic control. The control is completely integrated with the system and includes features such as automatic remote start and stop.
