Kaivac was awarded the patent for its KaiSump system, which is used to convert the company’s No-Touch Cleaning machine into a flood-recovery system. In the event of a flood, the KaiSump discharge line can secure to a drain to provide a continuous pump-out line.


After drainage is complete the No-Touch machine can be used to clean a site and minimize exposure to bacteria. The company claims that the machine is so effective it could be used to drain a swimming pool.

Cultec Inc. released a redesigned storm-water detention/retention chamber that has greater capacity and improved manifold design, according to the company. The Recharger 330XL will replace the 330 model. It includes a storage capacity of 55.2 cubic feet, an increase of 12 percent over the 330 model.


Each chamber includes two side portals that allow manifolding to take place at any point within the system and eliminates the need to build external manifolds. A chamber can accept a 24-inch diameter pipe into its endwall.

Pearpoint launched an upgraded digital video pipeline inspection system to its P330+ flexiprobe control module, which allows users to locate and provide video of pipeline fractures and blockages. Included with each system is a universal brush skid set that enables customization for a range of pipe diameters.


The module has an 8-inch industrial thin film transistor screen. It records in full VGA digital video onto compact flash cards of up to 8 GB capacity, allowing up to seven hours of video to be recorded on each card.

Both models are available in a polycarbonate bubble to make it vandal resistant, according to the company. The cameras can be wall, ceiling or pendant mounted and the DR2 can be flush mounted. Images are in wide-dynamic range, which combines images for a single frame of optimized, high-resolution film.
