Outdoor Area Light
enLux Lighting’s new 6K Series LED OutdoorArea Light has an operating range of 50,000 hours and provides an efficient light output of 700 lux (1m) using 100 watts of power consumption.
The new series is available in a variety of lumen outputs and many colors, including three white Correlated Color Temperature colors. The standard item is Model 614203, with 2400 lumens, eight light engines, 120V input, Clear Anodize and 4100K CCT. It can be installed on almost any typical light pole with a round mount, and weighs 14.5 pounds.
Emergency Lighting Inverter
A centralized emergency lighting inverter, the UL 924 listed UltraLITE Model ELU provides uninterrupted, regulated, continuous sinewave output for use with “normally on” lighting fixtures and exit lamps, as well as standby output for use with “normally off” emergency lighting fixtures. Compact Fluorescent Downlights
Juno Lighting Group offers nine Energy Star-rated compact fluorescent downlights (CFL). Each product is Air-Loc rated and complies with California’s Title 24 Energy Code.
Energy Star-rated CFLs provide the same amount of lumens as standard incandescent lamps, but do so at lower wattage ratings, using less energy than their counterparts.
Emergency Lighting
Acrilex Inc., producers and distributors of custom-colored acrylics, introduces Acriglo. Designed to provide illumination without a backup power source during the loss of electricity, Acriglo is charged completely by the luminosity omitted during the normal operation of a light. The glow emitted from a fixture with Acriglo lasts several hours and provides and provides a lighting capacity equivalent to that of moonlight.
Offered in several colors and textures, Acriglo combines aesthetic appeal with a practical and low-maintenance safety device.
Safety Flooring
Altro has launched a new addition to its safety flooring range. Available in 20 contemporary designs, the new Altro Imprint is suitable for busy, high-traffic public areas. The flooring is available in three finishes: Cobra, Tectonic and Pico.
Each pattern can be used alone or in a coordinated design scheme with the other two finishes. The product, according to Altro, is easy to install, weld and cove.
Fireproof Sound Barrier
Zero International has introduced a fireproof, lead-free intumescent sound barrier engineered to enhance sound ratings of both new and in-place doors. The STC 3003 Sound Sheet barrier is suitable for layering during the construction of acoustical doors and, in some cases, it can be applied as an outer layer to existing doors, provided it is properly installed with trim strips over its seams.
The barrier can be installed in walls prior to sheetrock application for noise reduction.
Alarm Pull Stations
Safety Technology International Inc. announces a pull station cover with a spacer that mounts directly to the wall over an existing pull station with an exposed conduit.
When the cover is lifted, a self-contained alarm sounds, which draws immediate attention to the area. The prankster will either run or be caught, helping to prevent a false fire alarm. When service to the pull station is required, the cover’s 9-volt internal alarm may be deactivated. The alarm comes in a piercing 105 dB or a softer 95 dB. The cover does not restrict legitimate fire alarms from being activated.
Fire Alarms
Fire-Lite Alarms introduces the MS-9600LS, a two-loop advanced addressable fire alarm control panel. Suitable for retrofit projects, the control panel communicates to devices over standard, unshielded fire wire up to 10,000 feet, allowing conventional systems to be updated to addressable systems without replacing the wire.
The system uses high-speed communications called LiteSpeed that simultaneously poll 10 devices. The panel features more room for wiring with a larger enclosure and new chassis that can be removed quickly with just two screws.
Fire Barrier Coating
GAF Materials Corporation’s new FireOut Fire Barrier Coating provides UL Class A fire ratings when applied to combustible decks.
