Vicon Industries Inc. added the S10-CH mini camera to its line of video surveillance systems. The color camera has a digital slow-shutter lens, pan and tilt drive, CPU-based electronics and receiver. The lens has a 3.8 to 38 millimeter auto iris varifocal lens and 100 zoom functionality. The camera can be surface-mounted and used outdoors.
GE Security Inc. introduced two analog, fixed-dome cameras to its CamPlus 2 line. The cameras can perform in high and low light, rotate 360 degrees and tilt 9 degrees. Both models are available in a polycarbonate bubble to make it vandal resistant, according to the company. The cameras can be wall, ceiling or pendant mounted and the DR2 can be flush mounted. Images are in wide-dynamic range, which combines images for a single frame of optimized, high-resolution film.
videoNEXT released version 2.5 of its Security Knowledge Manager, a Web-based software application that manages security information in real time. Version 2.5 features alarm notification, geo-coordinated 2-D and 3-D mapping, metadata annunciation and control framework that supports thousands of users. The software integrates video surveillance and access control into existing information technology infrastructures.
Sureshield Coatings Co. offers its line of antimicrobial coatings for items such as hospital bed frames, examination tables, gurneys and stretchers. The coating limits fingerprint remnants and offers an easy-to-clean surface for metal, according to the company.
The line of antimicrobial coatings comes in clear, solid and transparent colors. It is available in a textured coating or glossy coating.
Security Information Systems Inc., part of Honeywell’s Life Safety Group, offers new fire alarm control monitoring software that incorporates Fire-Lite’s panels, IPDACT Internet communicator and VisorAlarm IP receiver.
The system allows facility owners, security personnel and third parties to monitor several fire alarm panels from a UL-listed computer. It allows messages to be sent to multiple users via e-mail, text message, PC, cell phone or PDA.
Cubicle Curtain Factory offers a one-size-fits-all curtain, with a 66-square-inch panels that can be replaced as necessary. The sectioned-curtain complies with health codes, which state a soiled linen must be completely removed, according to the company.
The curtain’s panels overlap to ensure patient privacy and attach to the mesh top, which allows water from sprinklers to pass through in case of a fire. The curtains come in a variety of patterns and are connected with snaps.
Cannon Hygiene USA released a new hygienic hand dryer. The Dyson Airblade dries hands in 12 seconds while using 80 percent less energy than conventional hand dryers, according to the company. It also delivers cost savings close to 98 percent compared to paper towels, and is HEPA filtered to remove bacteria from the air.
The dryer is endorsed by the British Skin Foundation and the Royal Institute of Public Health, and it is certified by NSF International.
EPS Inc. expanded its line of resealable, leak-resistant bags with EPS Lab Guard Specimen Bags. The bags meet the National Committee of Clinical Laboratory Standard’s requirements to reduce the risk of spills and leaks. They feature a document pouch that allows the specimen and paperwork to be kept together, reducing the risk of contamination and clerical errors.
The bags come in three sizes, 6 inch x 9 inch, 8 inch x 10 inch and 12 inch x 12 inch. The bags can come with or without the biohazard symbol imprint.
