FT. MYERS, Fla. — Lee Memorial Health System in Ft. Myers is will soon begin work on a significant expansion and renovation of the Gulf Coast Medical Center, also located in Fort Myers. System officials recently signed a contract with the joint venture of global construction firm Skanska and Gates Construction of Bonita Springs, Fla., to complete the $200 million construction portion of the project.

The new line comes in opaque and translucent colors, patterns, gradients and wood/textile effects. The palette includes 27 back-painted colors, 24 metal frame colors and over 50 options of laminated aesthetics. In the glassBoards edition, surfaces can be writeable or projectable. The 3/8-inch and ½-inch thick, tempered safety glass can block sound and provide privacy as room dividers, stand-alone panels and workstations.
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — The M.T. Mustian Center at Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare (TMH) recently started construction with Birmingham, Ala.-based Brasfield & Gorrie. Demolition and site work was already underway for new surgical tower during the groundbreaking ceremony on June 3.
Two biodegradable, fragrance-releasing urinal screens will eliminate urine backsplash using a patented bristle seal. Released by Sealed Air’s Diversey Care division in partnership with Ekcos Innovation, the products prevent the spread of microbes, floor deterioration and odors. The screens are infused with resin that uses timed-release deodorant technology, which can improve customer satisfaction. Called Power Screen and Ekcoscreen, they last 30 and 60 days, respectively, and have a smaller carbon footprint than similar products with shorter lifespans.
DALLAS — Parkland Health & Hospital System’s Hatcher Station Health Center recently celebrated its one-year anniversary. The $22 million facility sits on seven acres in South Dallas and replaced the old East Dallas Health Center.
“It has brightened up this part of the neighborhood. We hope it will lead to even more development,” said Rev. Donald R. Parish Sr. of True Lee Missionary Baptist Church, which is located directly behind the health center.

Diff, and Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA).
