COLUMBUS, Ind. — Columbus Regional Hospital is creating an emergency department that will not only focus on expanding and updating the facility, but also wayfinding for patients and staff. Although the emergency room will be much larger than its predecessor, the number of footsteps patients will have to take to get treatment will be fewer and more private, according to The Republic.
Los Angeles-based, CO Architects promoted Gina Chang, AIA from senior associate to associate principal. Chang joined the firm in 2007 and has more than 15 years of experience in architecture working as a project manager, health care architect and medical planner, and she has worked with many large teams on complex projects. Chang received a Bachelor of Arts in architecture from the University of California, Berkeley and is certified in evidence-based design.
Tru-D is validated to deliver a measured dose of UVC to an area to target pathogens within any room and to disinfect the area. The product can disinfect an entire room from a single location allowing for efficiency and for the operator to perform other tasks while Tru-D works on the area. Tru-D is environmentally friendly and uses no chemicals to kill the germs in the hospital. It includes an administrative dashboard that allows administrators to view usage data through graphics and spreadsheets.
