C.W. Driver recently promoted Richard Freeark to vice president of operations for its San Diego region. Freeark, a 32-year construction industry veteran, will be responsible for the operational oversight and client satisfaction for the firm’s projects, including healthcare and education facilities in San Diego and Los Angeles.


Bringing more than 20 years of experience in healthcare design, Madhu Gresla was recently named business development director for the Chicago Healthcare practice of Cannon Design. In her new role, Gresla will team closely with other healthcare leaders in the Midwest region to implement strategies that support the firm’s objective of delivering excellence in project design and client satisfaction.

Donna Barry and Jose Pombo, founding principals of Phoenix-based architecture firm Substance Design Consortium, will join the corporate leadership of HMC Architects as a result of a merger between the two firms. Barry joins the firm as design principal, while Pombo will serve as associate principal and senior project manager.
