Erik Hanson joined HMC Architects’ office in metropolitan Phoenix as managing principal. Hanson will lead business development efforts and projects taking place in Arizona, while contributing to ongoing projects in multiple markets across the firm. His 19 years of experience includes designing and managing projects in multiple sectors. His health care portfolio includes projects such as the Cleveland Clinic in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates; Oxford Radcliffe Hospitals NHS Trust in Oxford, Oxfordshire, United Kingdom; Massachusetts College of Pharmacy, Laboratory, and Student Residence in Boston; and Duchossois Center for Advanced Medicine, University of Chicago Hospitals in Chicago. Locally, he contributed to the Flagstaff Medical Center Comprehensive Master Plan, Flagstaff, Ariz.; and the CHW Mercy Gilbert Medical Center Phase 2, Gilbert, Ariz.
In other company news, David De Valeria joined HMC Architects as design principal in the firm’s Phoenix studio. Most recently, De Valeria served as vice president and director of design of the Phoenix office of a national design firm. He holds more than 30 years of architectural design experience. His health care portfolio includes the Zayed Military Hospital in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates; Pakistan Military Hospital in Peshwar Province, Pakistan; and the Mayo Hospital Cafeteria Addition and Wellness Garden in Phoenix.
