CHICAGO — Reed Construction recently completed a renovation at the radiology department at the University of Chicago Medical Center’s Bernard A. Mitchell Hospital.
Reed Construction renovated the space to accommodate the installation of an uninterrupted power supply system designed to provide back-up power to the department’s three CT Scanners.
GOLETA, Calif. — HBE Corp. started construction of a new $103 million hospital in Goleta.
The 148,000-square-foot facility is replacing the Goleta Valley Cottage Hospital that was built in 1965. It is expected to be completed and to meet the state’s seismic standards by 2013.

BEIJING — Construction began last week on a new women’s and children’s hospital in Beijing’s Lakeview Park district.
The New Century International Women’s and Children’s Hospital, slated to open late this year, is the system’s first women’s hospital and second pediatric 
clinic and hospital.
